UT Ombuds elected to an International Board of Directors

Dr. Lisa Yamagata-Lunch, UT Ombuds and Director of the Office of Ombuds Services, has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors for the International Ombuds Association (IOA).

The board consists of 15 members who serve as the IOA’s leadership team and work to “ensure integrity and transparency in all facets of leadership and management of the Association, to foster communication and information sharing among all components of the Association’s leadership, and to foster and promote opportunities for the membership to be informed and engaged in the work of the Association (2024, International Ombuds Association)

The election process, which took place in the spring of 2024, allowed members of the IOA to vote for nominees to fill five open board seats. Lisa’s three-year term with the board officially began on April 3rd, 2024. She is excited to serve in this leadership role in order to contribute to the evolution of the Ombuds field and serve individual ombuds and ombuds offices in their future development. Lisa was appointed as the Board of Certification for Certified Organizational Ombuds Practitioners (CO-OP) Liaison to the IOA Board. Prior to this election, Lisa chaired the IOA Professional Development Committee.
